The moment you step inside 893 Ryōtei, your eyes need a second to adjust. Coming in from a bright Berlin afternoon, the darkness feels almost dramatic but within minutes it just feels right. The room has this low-lit, unhurried Asian fusion atmosphere that pulls you in, and the meal that follows more than lives up to the setting. At around 180 euros for a solo dinner, it's a serious spend, but one I left feeling was earned. I started at the bar with a Yuzu Fizz - gin & tonic with yuzu sake, lemon juice - clean, citrusy, exactly what you want to ease into a long dinner. Then the food started arriving, and things quickly got out of hand in the best possible way. The sake toro aburi came with this gentle char that coaxed something deeper out of the salmon belly, a slightly smoky, almost buttery quality that wouldn't have been there otherwise. Great so far. But then the tostada toro caviar arrived and reset the entire evening. One piece. A crispy tortilla base, fatty tuna belly, caviar on top. The contrast between the crunch underneath and the richness above, with the salt from the caviar tying everything together - it's the kind of thing you find yourself thinking about weeks later. I genuinely considered cancelling everything else and ordering six more. I didn't, and I'm glad. The salmon sashimi taquitos had a quiet precision to them - heat, creaminess, fat from the fish, all in balance. The crispy ebi brought crunch and truffle mayo and a yuzu dressing that kept it from ever feeling heavy. The miso cod won't displace the Nobu original in memory, but the glaze on the outer edges gets you close, and that's not nothing. The server handled the whole thing well - attentive without hovering, offered suggestions when I was deciding on what to order, and generally made it feel like someone was actually paying attention rather than just taking orders. That kind of service doesn't always show up even at this price point. 893 Ryōtei isn't a casual dinner but if you're after a solo counter experience or a long table for two where the food is genuinely the point, it earns its place on that list. I cancelled the final meat course because I'd already eaten myself into a corner. I finished with an espresso martini and walked out into Berlin extremely full and happy.
this has been outstanding. the food was great, the atmosphere was great, the service was amazing, pretty much everything was absolute perfection. we got to sit right by the kitchen, could see how everything was prepared, grilled and flamed, we got so lucky, we reserved the table two month before so that we can make sure we have a table on our anniversary. than this atmospheric spot, it was a dream, full immersion from flavor to wine sprinkles everything was included. the service picked up the dishes right next to us, so we could also totally hear every conversation to be had about all of the other guests of this evening, plus the real deal of the stress that it takes to run a full blown restauraunt. honestly just awasome guys, keep it up!
The experience at 983 Ryotei was honestly amazing — everything just worked together perfectly. The food, the vibe, the atmosphere — it all felt super cohesive and made for a really great evening. The flavours were really interesting and unexpected in a good way, and the wine list was solid too. The whole place has this very fancy but still cool, relaxed energy that makes the whole experience feel special without being stiff. Big shoutout to the staff as well — the girls looked absolutely stunning, they were super attentive and friendly, and the service really added to the whole vibe. Overall, just a really great spot. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in Berlin.
