Such a lovely spot for a relaxed lunch. I had the onigiri set with two onigiri (you can choose), a small kakitama-style egg-drop soup with mushrooms, and seasonal pickled vegetables. The portion was just right for lunch and everything felt simple, comforting and really well prepared. The rice was perfectly cooked, with a great texture and the fillings were flavorful without overpowering it. The soup was light and comforting and complemented the onigiri really well. The service was also very kind and helpful. I loved the atmosphere of the space: warm wood, ceramics and beautiful details give it a serene, gallery-like Japanese feel that’s almost meditative, while still feeling cozy and welcoming. It also doesn’t feel overcrowded, which makes it a great place for a quiet, unhurried lunch. Definitely a place I’d happily come back to.
We had a matcha latté with coconut milk and a sakura cold brew. Both were very excellent. The sakura in particular stood out to me, the foam was almost like a spiced cake sakura flavor without being too sweet, and combined so well with the coffee. It also looked very pretty. The matcha latté was very nice as well, I appreciated that the coconut milk was unsweetened so the flavor of the matcha and coconut really shone through. We had the drinks to go so cannot comment on atmosphere, but the interior looked very cool!
I used to think I didn't like matcha after having too many bitter drinks at places like Starbucks, but this shop completely restored my faith. The quality here is on a whole different level compared to the usual café chains or trendy matcha bars in the Netherlands. It’s incredibly smooth, rich, and not bitter at all. Honestly, it’s the best matcha drink I’ve ever had. If you want to taste what real, high-quality matcha is supposed to be like, this is the place.
