Dar El Bacha Museum

Just an amazing place. With the most wonderful art work and preserved cedar wood work in Marrakech. Dar El Bacha Museum was converted in 2017 from a 1910 palace. It also the location of the famed Bacha Coffee shop that is considered a Mecca for coffee connoisseurs to visit. Make sure you make reservations on line prior to going or you will be waiting for over an hour to enter. The Moroccan craftsmanship in tile work, cedar work, art and tapestry is something to behold. It is a must stop if you want great coffee and the best museum in Marrakech.

Read my whole review I also have reviewed Bacha coffee as well as I vlogged this experience on my YouTube channels TipsNNTricks and BensbergFilms with that said there were only a few people ahead of me in line to enter. I only wanted to go look at the coffee shop as well as the coffee tasting room. The man at the booth for tickets said that the coffee tasting room is sold out So he made me purchase a museum ticket which was 60 Durham I believe instead of the 10 Durham just to enter for the coffee shop or the tasting room. The coffee tasting room it was towards the later part of the afternoon was only 1 hour wait for one person I declined and just checked out a little bit of the museum but I wasn't really interested in that I was mostly interested in the coffee shop and getting footage of the coffee tasting room which I did so make sure you look at my photos. So technically the man at the booth that charge me 50 Durham more that said the tasting room was sold out did not tell me the truth. I did purchase a tin of coffee in the coffee shop it's the Ethiopian blend and they gave me a beautiful bag and of course the souvenir tin will be nice. I actually made my first few cups of coffee with it and it's good coffee but not great just to be honest it's a medium roast I prefer darker roast myself. In US value it was a little over $40 and the 10 is pre-ground coffee so it's grinded coffee already and it's only 8.8 oz 250 g so it's not very much coffee for a lot of money but it's an experience because Marrakesh is the first location. Overall definitely worth visiting If I went back I would want to have a dark roast in the tasting room but I probably wouldn't buy another batch of coffee in my opinion it's not worth the hype The dark roast could be but the medium roast not so much. The young man that helped me pick out the Ethiopian blend was very friendly he did see that I had my DJI microphone and asked me if I was filming because it's against their policy to film them talking about the coffee but you're allowed to film inside the coffee shop. The gal at the tasting room let me go inside and get some photos but after about 3 minutes one of the head servers or manager of the tasting room asked me if he could help me in a nice way of saying what are you doing here. He was friendly but in his own way said okay you've got your photos now it's time to leave. I could understand that as I was not a paid customer to be in the tasting room. Overall definitely worth checking out.
