We joined the waiting list with the front of house for the 9pm sitting on a Thursday night. We got the at about 8:40pm, and were seated by 9:20pm. It was well worth the wait! 5/5! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, the vibes were out of the this world and the food and drink were 10/10. The non alcoholic options were very nice too, I’d never had champagne tea before, it was very nice!
Handshake Speakeasy is one of those places where the experience starts the moment you walk in. A special thanks to Judas, who introduced us to the concept and inspiration behind the place. The cocktails are creative, unique, and absolutely worth trying. The service was impeccable, and everything felt thoughtfully curated. One thing to know before booking: reservations are limited to 2 hours, and if you book after 10 PM, the kitchen is closed, so you’ll only be able to enjoy drinks. We didn’t know this beforehand and had planned to have dinner as well. Overall, a great experience with excellent hospitality and some truly memorable cocktails.
Don’t let the elite global ranking intimidate you - Handshake has zero pretension. The waiters are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and happy to explain the menu in English. The cocktails are mind-blowing my good, literally the best I’ve ever tasted, and they even give you a tray of snacks to go with them. Five world class drinks plus tip came out to 110 USD. As a New Yorker, that value blow my mind. Couldn’t recommend it more. It’s definitely one of the reasons I want to visit Mexico City again in the future.
