Oh wow! This place was everything I needed it to be and more. Went on a Tuesday at 9pm on a first date and it was like being transported to another world, a cooler world full of red curtains, great moustaches and experimental music PLUS a random cat walking about like he’s the owner. Yes please. Where do I sign up to become a regular member? Shared a delicious bottle of Mexican wine and some crispy potato cubes - YUM. Service was a bit ADHD but whatever, it doesn’t matter when you’re floating in a trance of reverb, red wine and dim lights.
Really a gem. Obviously it depends on what musicioams are playing but the locale provides a great template for an awesome tiempo the vibe is great atmosphere is great. Prices are a little high, I think it’s a nice place but the could work on prices. It’s not 5 star it’s jazz it should’ve more inviting and hip and cool not a concert hall at the MET.
I will keep this review rather short, but if you like a small, intimate and inspiring jazz spot that is neither expensive nor pretentious, you will love Jazzatlán. Great music, a tasty sazerac, prompt and nice servers...and all for 100 pesos (early show) or about 250 pesos (late show). They have a full menu, so if you prefer, you can also eat here.
