A warm, low-lit speakeasy that feels like a private listening session. My highlight was how the owner shared the stories behind each glass of Whiskey Flight No. 2, an introduction to the different profiles of local Taiwanese whiskey brands. I suggest to message them on IG (@zou_listening_bar) beforehand; to make your evening feel intentional, and elevate the experience. 🥃
A fairly nice bar to chill or hang out with friends. It 's not in the busy street but a quiet and cultural corner of Taipei. The owner got great and strong sense of music and whisky / spirits. You could be totally easy and relax there as there is no "stupid choice" and owner would sometimes introduce something good or interesting. Just throw yourself there to enjoy great whiskies, music and even "tapas" (not a big portion dish but something go with your whiskies) A side note to it, I did admire owner's tongue and taste. It is truly a comfortable place that I'd visit again whenever I need a relax time! Highly recommended.
A truly special listening bar experience. The owner’s passion for classical music is evident in every detail — from the beautifully curated sound system to the classy, elegant atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and really listen. We had the pleasure of chatting with the owner himself, which made the night even more memorable. His knowledge of both music and whisky adds a very personal touch to the experience. Highlights of the night included an Islay Kilchoman 11-year sherry cask, the Laphroaig Cairdeas Cask Favourites (which he actually biked around Islay to source and carried back to Taiwan himself — amazing dedication!), and a wonderful Swedish Smögen single cask. If you appreciate fine whisky, great music, and a refined yet welcoming vibe, this place is absolutely worth a visit. We had a fantastic evening and will definitely be back.
