Privacy Policy

Trema (tre.ma) is operated by MDNCT OÜ, a company registered in Estonia, at Sepapaja 6, Tallinn 15551, Estonia (“Trema”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect through tre.ma and Trema Studio, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Trema builds a page for a place (tre.ma/<handle>) from information the business already publishes — for example on Instagram or Google — and lets the owner claim, refine, and manage that page from Trema Studio. Because of this, some of the information we process describes a business rather than an individual, even where it was contributed by one.

We collect information in the following ways:

• Account information. If you sign up or claim a place in Studio, we collect your email address and any name or profile details you provide, and keep a record of the places associated with your account.
• Business and place information. Publicly available details about a place — such as its name, address, opening hours, photos, and social or website links — sourced from providers like Google Places and Instagram, or entered directly by an owner in Studio.
• Media you upload. Photos and other media you add to a page are stored on our infrastructure and served through our content delivery network.
• Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details — only what is needed to manage your subscription (plan, status, and billing history).
• Messages you send us. If you contact us through tre.ma/contact or a similar form, we keep the content of your message and the contact details you provide so we can respond.
• Usage information. We collect first-party, cookieless analytics about how pages and the dashboard are used (such as page views and interactions), including the campaign or link that brought you to Trema, to understand and improve the product. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

• To create, host, and keep place pages up to date.
• To operate Studio accounts, authentication, and billing.
• To respond to messages sent through our contact channels.
• To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.
• To understand usage and improve Trema over time.

We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf, strictly to run Trema — including hosting and database infrastructure, media storage and delivery, payment processing (Stripe), transactional email, and the data sources (such as Google Places) used to build a page. Each provider is only given the information it needs to perform its function, and none may use it for their own purposes.

Trema uses a minimal set of cookies required for authentication and for the site to function. Product analytics are first-party and cookieless where possible. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We keep account and place information for as long as the account or page is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information at any time; some information may be retained where the law requires it.

Trema is based in the European Union. Some of our service providers may process information outside the EU/EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Estonia, the Andmekaitse Inspektsioon.

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Trema is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
